FROM THE VIRTUAL TO THE PHYSICAL

FINERBLACK was founded by Italian designer Alessia Flavia Vitale, born in Milan and based in Berlin.

Long before FINERBLACK existed, Vitale was creating avant-garde fashion in the virtual world of Second Life under the name Soraya Vaher. Her label VIOLATOR became known for experimental haute couture and fetish-inspired digital fashion, building a worldwide community of customers and followers.

What began in a virtual world gradually demanded a physical form.

With a background in archaeology and a lifelong fascination with jewelry, Vitale had always been drawn to the symbolic power of adornment. During her travels across Europe, Asia and the Americas, that fascination evolved through encounters with different cultures, materials and forms.

The turning point came almost by accident. After discovering an extraordinary selection of metal components, she created a necklace for herself. Friends immediately began asking for one of their own. At first, she refused — her creative world was still digital.

But the idea persisted.

Translating virtual designs into physical objects became an experiment: some could be recreated, others were impossible. That tension between imagination and materiality ultimately became part of the language of FINERBLACK.

As requests for her handmade jewelry grew, Vitale finally began creating pieces for others. What had once been a distant dream of becoming a jewelry designer had quietly become real.
